Terrarium Tracker is a student research project that uses low-cost sensors to study how a sealed miniature ecosystem responds to extended light, extended darkness, and how it recovers.
A 2.5-gallon semi-sealed terrarium housing approximately 3 orange cream isopods (Porcellio dilatatus pruinosus) and a colony of temperate springtails (Folsomia candida) alongside locally sourced moss. An ESP32 with an SCD41 sensor continuously tracks CO2, temperature, and humidity to study carbon cycle dynamics in a contained ecosystem.
